Session 13 / 73

Instructions and literary sources

Historical note: Session 15 clarifies documented earlier use of Blake and Crowley. It supersedes weaker descriptions of their historical connection.

Result: identified a specific Blake parallel and tested a narrow boundary-removal reading. No new plaintext, unique external source selection, or complete counting rule was established.

What the solved material actually supplies

Evidence Supported use What is still missing
The warning asks readers to preserve the book's wording and numbers Keep exact rune transcription, separators and original images authoritative No external title or indexing convention
The wisdom page explicitly names primes and the totient function Strong mathematical evidence; prior sessions already reproduced a prime-minus-one solution Starting points, reset rules and scope for unsolved sections
The final parable links emergence with shedding circumferences A possible boundary-removal hypothesis No specification of words, lines, pages, rings, or removal depth
The koan's instruction mentions four unreasonable actions daily Four is explicit No instruction to select every fourth rune or to use four rails
The wisdom page connects living things with holiness; other passages discuss circumference Specific literary parallels with Blake No selected edition, passage, coordinates or cipher operation
The 2016 message links words, meanings and numbers Corroborates attention to text and arithmetic together Does not determine a particular extraction algorithm

Blake comparison

The Marriage of Heaven and Hell contains a close parallel to the holiness statement. In its section on the voice of the Devil, Blake also describes reason as an outward circumference of energy. These two motifs make this work a more specific literary candidate than a generic ancient-script resemblance. The connection remains an inference about literary influence, not a decryption key.

The archived 2014 walkthrough independently records a Cicada page title using Blake's holiness formulation, supporting historical relevance. The same walkthrough records an earlier book cipher based on Emerson's Self-Reliance, using paragraph:sentence:word:letter rather than the Agrippa line:character rule. Thus Cicada's documented practice includes more than one source and more than one indexing method. Reusing Agrippa's convention without an instruction is not justified.

The Gutenberg edition was used for thematic/source comparison only. Its electronic line wrapping was not treated as a Cicada-authorized coordinate system. Search also surfaced the holiness motif in other Blake works, which further cautions against treating a short phrase as a uniquely identifying book clue; those additional full texts were not retrieved successfully in this session.

Bounded boundary-removal test

Before viewing results, fixed two interpretations: remove exactly one rune from each end of every word; or remove exactly one rune from each end of every transcribed line. Read remaining runes in original order with the standard Gematria Primus transliteration. No fitted shifts, reversed alphabets, arbitrary keys, repeated stripping, or selective exceptions.

Applied each rule to the eight substantial unsolved marked sections, producing 16 candidates. Words spanning line breaks remain whole in the word interpretation. Empty and one/two-rune units leave no interior. All complete outputs are recorded in interior_results.json.

Inspection did not identify a coherent plaintext passage. These outputs do not validate a literal direct-reading interior-message hypothesis. This says nothing conclusive about boundary removal combined with a further encryption step, illustrated boundaries, or philosophical meaning alone. No statistical significance or exhaustive cryptanalytic exclusion is claimed.

Decision

The audit does not identify a uniquely specified external book cipher to execute. The strongest operational clues remain the explicit mathematical ones; these should outrank free associations with literature or ancient civilizations. The earlier arithmetic searches and their limits remain recorded in Sessions 1-3. They were not repeated here.

Blake remains a supported literary lead, but testing entire books as arbitrary keys would introduce many unsupported choices. A stronger next experiment would require a measurable prediction connecting the original rune numbers to word or page boundaries, with known-solution controls and an untouched validation section. This session does not supply that missing rule.

Reproduction: run interior_pass.py using Python with NumPy. It uses the existing lp_core.py and word_core.py modules and master transcription. No new source downloads are needed for this extraction test.
